Seema Biswas

Seema Biswas was born in Assam. She was interested in acting right from her childhood. Her first formal introduction to theatre was through a workshop is Guwahati. Later, she joined the National School of Drama in Delhi. There she used to take part in different plays. Famous film director Shekhar Kapoor happened to see her when she was rehearsing for 'Khubsurat Bahu', a comedy.

Seeing the talent of Biswas, Kapoor offered her the lead role in the film 'Bandit Queen'. The film was released and it was commercially successful. Seema was presented the National Award for her performance in the film. Seema has acted in other films like 'Khamoshi' and 'Company'. In 'Khamoshi' she played the role of a deaf-mute. She has worked in regional language films too.
