Bipasha Basu first came into the limelight when she won the Famous Ford Supermodels Contest at the age of 17. She also won the Tulips Miss Super Vivacious in the same contest.

Besides doing innumerable prestigious ads, Bipasha did the famous video 'Tu' for Sonu Nigam's album "Kismat".Bipasha has been bold enough to accept an unusual role in her initial films "Ajnabi" (2001), a multi-starrer, with Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Kareena Kapoor, and "Raaz" (2002). It was soon followed by 'Jism' opposite John Abraham.

In 2003, Basu's career took off. She starred appeared in four films: Jism," "Footpath", "Zameen" , "Rudraksh", "Aetbaar" and "Ishq Hai Tumse" . Today she is doing more unconventional roles with amazing ease and grace.

Basically a Commerce graduate, apart from modeling and acting her other hobbies include dancing, reading and helping her mother with interior designing. Bipasha is the second daughter in the family and is fondly called Bonny by near and dear ones.

To family and friends she is 'Bonny' and is the second daughter in her family. Her eyes being very expressive can speak volumes and she feels that her eyes are her assets. Her poise and caliber will take her places.
