Aamir Hussain Khan, the son of film producer, Tahir Hussain, before becoming an actor, had assisted uncle Nasir Hussain in film-making for three years. Aamir has a younger brother Faisa who is a VJ and an actor, and two sisters Nikhat and Farhad.

Movies and Awards
Aamir Khan first made his appearance as a child artist in ' Yaadon Ki Baraat'. His first film 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', released in 1988, made him popular among the Indian youth. In 1990, his film 'Dil', directed by Indra Kumar, was tremendously successful, and Aamir became an overnight star.With time Aamir Khan grew into a fine and mature actor.

He distinguished himself with the acting calibre he displayed in Mahesh Bhatt's film - 'Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahin'. This performance continued in the films - 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke', Andaaz Apna Apna', and 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar'. His ability to immerse himself in a role was exemplified in the film 'Rangeela', where he merged himself into the character of a black marketeer. His film 'Lagaan' was internationally acclaimed and .was selected under Best Foreign Film category for Oscar Nomination 2002.

The best of his songs which made him imensely popular amoung the youth incluse Papa Kahtein Hain Bada Nam Karega in his first popular debut Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. and Aati kya khandala established him as the versatile actor.

Today Aamir Khan is a highly paid actor and brand ambassador for a variety of products..He has won awards like, Best Actor award 1996 for Raja Hindustani, Best Actor award 1999 for Sarfarosh and Best Actor award 2002 for Lagaan. Movies like Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke, Andaz Apna Apna, Ishq and Dil Chahta Hai display his natural flair for comedy.
